SOCi Feeds the Soul, Donates $15,000 to Fight Hunger and Support Local Communities Through Quarterly Day of Donation and Advocacy

SAN DIEGO — Dec. 15, 2022—SOCi, the marketing platform for multi-location brands, and its employees recently celebrated its quarterly Day of Donation and Advocacy through SOCi Feeds the Soul, a week-long event in which team members helped to eradicate hunger and improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable individuals and communities. In total, 94 SOCi volunteers participated in-person and virtually to mitigate hunger issues on a local and global scale. 

On Nov. 7, SOCi team members in Austin, Texas hosted a Foundation Communities Supper Club, catering a hot barbecue lunch which helped feed the families, veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities living at Foundation Communities’ Spring Terrace location. In addition, SOCi made a $5,000 donation to help provide cleaning supplies and holiday gifts to Foundation Communities residents. 

“SOCi employees provided one of the most mouth-watering BBQ meals to our residents at Spring Terrace. Volunteers creating community with residents is the goal of Supper Clubs and SOCi did exactly that,” said Nikki Krueger, corporate engagement manager, Foundation Communities. “There is nothing better than sharing a hot meal with neighbors. Thank you to SOCi for championing our work at Foundation Communities.” 

On Nov. 9, SOCi team members teamed up with Rise Against Hunger in San Diego to lend a hand to people facing hunger by packaging up over 9,500 meals. In addition to providing students in need with a year-long supply of food, SOCi also made a $5,000 donation to Rise Against Hunger on behalf of the in-person volunteers to help end hunger insecurity issues across the globe. 

“Hunger is a powerful force in our world today, it can dominate the lives of individuals, families and whole communities,” said Aaron Cruse, area manager, Rise Against Hunger. “The best way to combat hunger effectively is by joining together, sweating together and making a difference together. The lives we touched through SOCi packing nearly 10,000 meals are now on their way to a brighter future. Thank you!” 

Finally, on Nov. 10, SOCi team members joined together for a virtual team-building experience while simultaneously giving back to a good cause. Volunteers learned about Rise Against Hunger’s mission and through a virtual scavenger hunt and trivia, were able to gather food and household items to donate to local food banks. SOCi also provides 13,000 meals to individuals in need through another $5,000 donation to Rise Against Hunger on behalf of the virtual volunteers. 

Through each of SOCi’s Day of Donation and Advocacy events in 2022, the company has donated a total of $51,862 which contributed to education, mental health awareness, the environment, and fighting hunger.
