What to Do if Facebook Business Page Says Closed Now

As a multi-location business, it’s necessary to keep up with your locations’ hours of operation. Some locations are facing challenges such as employee shortages or supply chain issues. Therefore, you need to adjust your regular business hours. In other cases, some local businesses are re-opening after the COVID-19 pandemic but their Facebook Business Page says closed now.

You need to notify the public about these re-openings or changes in hours of operation. You’ll want to update your Google Business Profile, local pages, locator page, and anywhere else online users might come across your business — including social media.

Here’s how to change your business hours or make temporary service changes to your Facebook Business Page from both a desktop and your mobile device.

How to Update Your Facebook Business Pages Hours and Make Temporary Service Changes

Step 1: After logging into your personal Facebook account or Facebook business account, click your business page.

Step 2:  On the left-hand side of your computer, scroll down until you see “Edit Page Info.” On a mobile device, click “Edit Page” on the right-hand side directly below your logo.

Step 3:  On your computer, scroll down until you see “Hours.” Here, you can select from the following: No hours available, Always open, Permanently closed, or Open on selected hours. We recommend using the last one and manually updating the hours your local business is open.

On a mobile device, click “Page Info” and then scroll down until you see “hours.” You’ll then be able to click on your hours and edit them as well.

Step 4: If you wish to make temporary service changes, scroll down on your computer a bit further until you see “Temporary Service Changes.” Here, you can mark operating, as usual, temporarily closed, or open with service changes such as pickup or delivery only.  Note, you can do this step on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device.
